May was a busy month for members of the Metropolitan Savannah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (MSAVHCC).
On Saturday, May 14th, the chamber’s board of directors attended a strategic planning workshop hosted by design management students from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
The full day of activities included team building exercises and a series of discussions that focused on Chamber goals and values.
“This was an amazing experience and we are so grateful to the students for putting so much work and planning into this event,” said MSAVHCC Board Chairman, Jonatan Gonzalez. “I have been in banking management for 30 years and have attended similar events costing $10,000 or more. But I have never experienced one that was more interesting and effective. The amazing thing is that this service was provided at no cost to our organization.”
The eleven students who made this training possible are working toward their masters degree in design management and hail from a variety of countries including Puerto Rico, Mexico, Colombia, China, and the U.S.
On Tuesday, May 17th, the Hispanic Chamber hosted its monthly breakfast and welcomed new members Joe Ortiz (Premier Designs Jewelry) and Javier Carro (Blends Coffee Boutique).
Special guests included newly-elected Chatham County Sheriff, John Wilcher.
On June 15th, the MSAVHCC will serve as a presenting sponsor for the double-header baseball game featuring the Savannah Bananas against the Gastonia Grizzlies! Gates will open at 5 pm and the first game starts at 6 pm with the second game immediately following.
Join other chamber families for a fun-filled evening where one low price gets you all the food and beverages (non-alcoholic) you care to consume. There will be special activities for children so you don’t want to miss this event!
On Tuesday, June 21st, MSAVHCC will hold its monthly breakfast in the Savannah Morning News auditorium at 1375 Chatham Parkway (between I-16 and US Hwy 17). Please visit our website or FaceBook page for more information.
