On Saturday, February 11, 2017, the church "El Santuario de Savannah", of Savannah, Georgia, celebrated a Day of Love, with a Dinner and Presentation entitled: "Maintaining the Flame of Love Lit". "This activity was to bless the couples of our church. It doesn't matter if you are newlyweds or have been married for 40 years, we all need a time of renewing and refocus in our marriages, Pastor Frank Ruiz said.
The invited guest for this occasion was Pastor Zulma Cruz, who in addition to being an Ordained Pastor, she is also a Social Worker with the State of Maryland. After marriage, what? "That is the question we should ask ourselves, even after years of marriage. But it is through these informative talks and through God's Word, that He continues to give us the tools to be more efficient in our marriages", Pastor Karla Ruiz said.
Emphasized, was the importance that a marriage based on equality among each spouse is not only Biblical, but common sense. It is the only model that requires that Christian qualities like service and humility be a part of each spouse. It is the model that allows growth and prosperity of each other's abilities and qualities.
The truth is that this was a time of refreshing, laughter and learning. The 15 couples that attended the event enjoyed themselves and were nourished with excellent tools for them to use in their marriages.
"The Christian marriage is, more so than any other, the place where harmony should exist. But such harmony can only exist when there is equality and fellowship in your marital relationship. Like any good symphonic orchestra composed of different instruments, one must put forth an effort and daily practice in order to be able to produce a beautiful melody. Equally, in order for there to be a beautiful melody in our marriages, we will have to put forth a strong effort and daily dedication to conserve our marriages for all our lives", Pastor Frank Ruiz said.
